Ribat Tours

Ribat Tours is a travel and tourism agency, created in March 1983.It´s agreed by the Tourism ministry. We specialise in Moroccan exploration with a long standing experience in meeting the needs of our international travellers. Our local English speaking Berber guides and trekking crew promise to discover you the bests and the treasure of the country.
Morocco is a diverse, generally safe and friendly country, with extensive natural and cultural sights. For the active adventurer, we offer a wide selection of hiking tours ranging from the easy to the challenging. Our trekking guides will take you off-the-beaten-track to remote regions, stopping along the way in traditional Berber villages where you will receive the unparalleled hospitality of the Berbers whose life has changed little over hundreds of years.
For those wishing to explore Morocco at a less active pace, our cultural tours will travel by jeep or camel along the ancient caravan trade routes. We will visit the Imperial Cities, the Kasbahs, travel through scenic mountain passes to remarkably preserved Roman ruins, and discover the overwhelming majesty of the oceanic dunes of the Sahara desert. You will be bathed in Morocco's natural beauty whilst surrounded by the extraordinarily rich and varied cultural heritage of Morocco with its Arab, Berber, African and European influences

Marrakech Monuments sight

images/day_tours/335_82.jpg

For your delightful half-day tour you will be picked up at 0830 hours (08:30am) from your centrally located hotel in Marrakech. You will set out in an air-conditioned vehicle with your guide to explore some of the most fascinating parts of Marrakech. The tour takes 3½ hours and covers around 50km (30 miles). Formerly an imperial city and important hub for camel caravans, Marrakech nestles near the foothills of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains. Because of the rich ochre color of its buildings, it is often known as the 'Red City'. You will have a 5-minute photo-stop at the great Koutoubia Mosque, the largest in Marrakech and a fine example of Hispano-Moorish architecture. The square tower (minaret) is 69 m (221 ft) in height and topped with four gleaming copper globes. Your tour continues to the peaceful enclosure in the kasbah housing the Saadian Tombs. These fine 16th century tombs, beautifully decorated with colorful tiles, Arabic script and intricate carvings, were sealed up for hundreds of years and only rediscovered in 1917. Next stop is the Moroccan Art Museum, a private museum in a charming Spanish-Moroccan house. You have around 30 minutes to view the excellent collection of basket work, jewellery and textiles. You continue to the delightful Bahia Palace, built at the end of the 19th century. Spend an hour here admiring the stunning stuccos, paintings, Islamic mosaics and coloured carved cedar wood roofs, and enjoying the Moorish-style pleasure gardens, planted with orange trees, cypress trees and jasmines. You then have a 30 minutes shopping stop at Dar Nejjarine Carpets, where you will be given traditional mint tea or a soft drink and shown a dazzling array of carpets. Be prepared to bargain hard if you want to buy, or just enjoy the rich variety of colours and textures. Your tour ends around 1200h (12 noon). The vehicle will drop you off back at your hotel or, if your accommodation is not a pick-up location, at the nearest possible point to your hotel.
